Oh, please don’t take the title for a wisecrack about her butt! More like the sway in her back that implies she’s hefting some major groceries. Or a bowling ball, I don’t recall.

This is one of the sketches I ought to tack to the wall next to my drawing table; the entire torso and the way she twists is something I need to keep in clear memory when drawing without a model. My figure drawing tends to become sort of stiff if I don’t try to recall the way people actually look.

I have no idea where this came from … which is testament that the Doodle Challenge is serving its purpose.

For new readers, I’ve been pushing my sketchbooking, trying to fill out random outline shapes and make some sense of them. Check ‘Doodle Challenge’ in the category index for older posts.
