Here comes Thoughtbubble

Karoliina's Blogspot profileMy girlfriend, Karoliina, is now blogging about her everyday tribulations, which within the next few days will include me, as she relocates from northern Finland to spend the summer in Malmö.
Go, read! She’s an excellent writer, and cute as hell, too!

The Nutrition of a Varied Diet

C'est Bon Anthology Vol 11The eleventh volume of the Anthology That Is Good has been compiled, edited, and sent to print. Preliminary date of publication is June 15th.

All content is one or another form of variation on comics that have previously published in C’est Bon Anthology  by C’est Bon Kultur members:

  • Oskar Aspman went and remixed Niklas Asker’s story Second Thoughts, originally published in CBA vol. 7.
  • Mattias Elftorp has reinterpreted an illustration by Daniel Novakovic, originally published in Publikation(34)C’est Bon.
  • Sofia Falkenhem took Martin Flink’s story The Troll for a spin, originally published in CBA vol. 7.
  • Martin Flink contributes a variation of Jamil Mani’s story Passage, originally published in CBA vol. 4.
  • Susanne Johanssons has made a photocollage of Johan Jergner-Ekervik’s story H2O, originally published in CBA vol. 6
  • Jamil Mani redid Sofia Falkenhem’s story Dawn, originally published in CBA vol. 8
  • My own contributions to this volume of CBA is SEX (after Mattias Elftorp’s story Violence, originally published in CBA vol. 3) and the cover (above), a tribute to Nathan Fox’ cover for CBA vol. 2.

Wertham’s Razor

Since I was gloating months ago on Twitter about this bright new idea of mine, I thought I might as well expand a bit on it here. Also, I’ve been terrible at updating the blog, so everything counts, I guess! (more…)

Fronkonsteen

I found to my pleasure that blogging again after an embarrassing hiatus doesn’t hurt at all! So I’ll treat you to a link about an exhibition I’m part of in the near future: C’est Bon Panorama II
That’s it. That didn’t hurt either. I should do this more ;)

I live, but quietly

I now work at Malmö’s pittoresque Seriecenter, along with my buddies from C’est Bon Kultur, and will be posting frequently about our new anthology issues!
On a bummer note, I lost my steady paying gig with publisher Faraos Cigarer, but will continue to work with them on a freelance basis.
There will also be a few new comic projects announced here in the near future, so stay tuned!

Mix Tape review

Mix Tape, and the currently avaliable Astoria singles Black Sabbath (intro) and Resistansen, are reviewed over on Derik A. Badman’s terrific Madinkbeard site!

A keen observer, Derik notes: “Like the songs on a well-crafted mix tape, the images have their own separate identity, yet, by placing in juxtaposition, the reader (listener) attributes some meaning to the choices and ordering.”

Busy busy busy

Did I say that I like to keep things moving? I just had a lunch meeting with a prospect new partner on the Kranium Uranium project, who has a lot of things going for him that Januz and I have needed to take the series to the next level.

Gearing up for MoCCA

Work on Astoria singles progressing at a steady pace, even though I have dropped everything else to prepare singles in time for MoCCA Art Fest June 6th-7th.

Scaling down from 12″ to 7″ square pagesize freshens up the work, as does the tight schedule. It’s both exciting and counter-productive to work against the clock like this but I often find it a great way of getting stuff out.
